I’m sure by now we have all heard the Government announcement this morning that we are entering into a 7-day state lockdown. As much as this is disappointing and frustrating news for us all, our encouragement is to respond in true Sharks fashion, lets be ALL-IN and focus on the opportunities this presents – a weekend with family, an opportunity to rest up and take a breather, for players to rest their bodies, to allow our coaches to reflect on how we approach the backend of our season.
It’s a better way for the club to respond and focus on the silver lining. We will keep you all informed on how this affects our club operations and participation as things come to hand.
In summary, please note:
1. No football or netball this Friday and Saturday.
2. All training sessions have been officially cancelled.
3. No training session next week (however coaches will notify all players and trainers as things progress)
Lets stay as positive as possible, check in on each other and enjoy a weekend off football.
PS: Please note the communication addressed to the club today from our EFNL CEO – Troy Swainston:
“Good Morning Clubs
Following the State Government announcement this morning, Victoria will be placed into a 7 day lockdown starting midnight tonight (Thursday 27th May).
The scheduled matches for this week (football and netball) will not take place and will be removed from the fixture as per the By Laws Addendum.
The lockdown doesn’t officially come into effect until midnight tonight so clubs can technically train but the Leagues recommendation would be that clubs cancel training tonight.
Further updates and guidance will be provided as they come to hand and what it means for next week’s round of matches and training.
– Troy Swainston”
